Big Ear Creations: Keep Calm and Carry On
Our job is the same as Churchill's was. It's the same as David's was. Our job is find truth and live it... and to Keep Calm and Carry On allowing God to the amazing things He loves to do.

Big Ear Creations: What's Next?
On the latest Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee, Jerry Seinfeld and Dave Letterman have a fascinating discussion about choices, worry, and how to treat the life's decisions. Sometimes decisions come fast and furious. As grownups, we need to quickly asses all angles, discern what's MOST right, make a decision... and move on to "What's Next"

The Cross is in the Ballpark | Big Ear Creations
These days "The Cross in the Ballpark" (like good poetry should do) has come to life for me. These days I describe is as the obliteration of lines we've drawn between the sacred and the secular. See... because some people say that a lie is just a lie, but the cross is in the ballpark. It's everywhere. Why deny the obvious? Everything is sacred. And I LOVE it when people GET this.

There are things we CAN do. | Big Ear Creations
Friday night I was driving home and was in a bit of a hurry to get home because my wife was headed out the door to help run the youth program at Freedom House. I stopped at the grocery store to pick up some snacks for my movie night with my son. When I came out of the doors, a homeless guy with snakes tattooed on his face was whispering "Do you have any change?"

Big Ear Creations: Could a whole city be prayed for?
If you could be an agent of positive change on your street TODAY… would you? Allow me to propose a seemingly over-simplistic undertaking that is actually profoundly doable and effective.

Big Ear Creations: The 14% mental evacuation
You might have gathered that I'm contextualizing The Sabbath. It's God's plan of a day of rest... once a week. 14% of your time. It's the commandment I like the least, because I struggle with rest. I don't like taking it and I don't know how to DO it when I do! Complete abandonment & hermit living is where my wonky mind gets to without a healthy discipline of rest. I'd actually hate it.

Big Ear Creations: Sermonizing
Items and shapes and history and quotes and scriptures sit like puzzle pieces on my Grandfather's desk as I await the Holy magic to take place as it inevitably does and bring them all together into something beyond mine own skills. Preaching is one of my favorite things in the world to do.

The NEW New Testament? | Big Ear Creations
"So the disciples warned the people to keep their gatherings small, private and in homes... or sometimes coffee shops. Friends and those with common hobbies only. When the head of the group says something you disagree with, it's a great opportunity to hedge your bets and split your time between groups depending on what fits YOUR schedule.

Growing up | Big Ear Creations
The body ages poorly. Try as you might... It will never feel or look as good as it used to. But an aged spirit and soul is a very fine thing. I think there is an immaturity in the constant pursuit of youth. Growth requires change, and change requires a measure of death to young things.

Big Ear Creations: Mating lessons from the Leopard Slug
I've been married for almost 14 years and have been together with Krissy for almost 17 years. In about a year, I'll have been with my "Mate" for more than half of of my life. But before that, things were rough in the girl department. I glided up the tree leaving my mucus trail for years and years... I even left the special scent and everything! But alas I found no one following.

Giving Good Gifts | Big Ear Creations
I'm uneasy about the unequivocal righteous railing against gift giving that seems to be rising up these days at Christmas time. I really, really, DO get that things are out of whack with how we do gifts at Christmas, and there does need to be some "market correction". So we're trying to solve this in different ways.

Of what consequence are rings and fingers? | Big Ear Creations
I broke my finger Saturday afternoon. I broke it playing basketball with a great group of teenagers and leaders during the middle of a youth conference where MANY were radically touched by a BIG BIG powerful God. It moved me and enriched my spiritual life greatly.

Donors respond to need in record time - Mission Network News
"2010 is the year of challenge and triumph for New Life Academy in Orissa, India. A Hindu landlord revoked their lease, which left their partner, Worldwide Christian Schools, four months to raise $87,000 to complete their new school."
